Iranian Wrestling

How can we have an Iranian forum without a thread to talk about wrestling - the national sport of Iran?
Today the 2019 Cadets World Championship (hosted in Sofia, Bulgaria) concluded for the men's FS (under 18s).

FS: Iran won 3 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 1 bronze medal (across 10 weight categories). Iran finished second overall, 2 points behind Russia (but Iran deserved to win, one wrestler was DQs unfairly and we lost points for that - but no big deal).

Very strong performances across the board, three wrestlers to look out for in the future: Rahman Amouzad (48kg GOLD - second Cadet World Gold medal in a row for Amouzad), Amirhossein Firouzpour (80kg GOLD) and Yousefi Sangani (92kg GOLD).

At GR: Iran won 4 Gold medals and topped the team table.
The 2019 Junior World Wrestling Championship will be taking place in Estonia from 12th August.

The 2019 World Wrestling Championship will be taking place in Kazakhstan from 14th September.

I will post updates for both here. Iran should send a strong team to Worlds in particular and I look forward to seeing Reza Yazdani back in action.

Hassan Yazdani is probably the best chance at a Gold medal (as David Taylor is missing the tournament through injury), but many other medal hopes are there (Teymouri, Karimi, Hadi).
World Wrestling Championships 2019 start in Kazakhstan on 14th September.

Reza Yazdani (97kg) and Parviz Hadi (125kg) are both injured so they withdrew - replaced with Shabani (97kg) and Mohebbi (125kg).

I love wrestling Iran has the best of sports in the world hope that this wrestling championship is a successful sport
Iran finished 4th in the Greco Roman team race of the 2019 World Championships, with 3 Bronze medals (Nejati, Geraei and Abdevali). This was a very young team, with 8/10 making their senior worlds debut, and the performances were strong overall.

The Freestyle wrestling begins in a few days.
Iran finished 4th in the Freestyle team race of the 2019 World Championships (only 1 point behind USA in third), with 1 Gold medal (Hassan Yazdani), 1 Silver medal (Alireza Karimi) and 2 Bronze medals (Behnam Ehsanpour and Younes Emami).

Hassan Yazdani won Gold at 86kg, his 4th World Championship medal and 2nd Gold medal at 86kg. He is also an Olympic Champion at 74kg from 2016 Rio Olympics - so Hassan Yazdani is now a 3x World/Olympic Champion.
