COPENHAGEN – Escalating an international spat , President Donald Trump said Wednesday he scrapped his trip to Denmark because the prime minister made a “nasty” statement when she rejected his idea to buy Greenland as an absurdity.

“You don’t talk to the United States that way, at least under me,” Trump told reporters in Washington. “I thought it was not a nice statement, the way she blew me off.”

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen called the whole thing “an absurd discussion” and said she was “disappointed and surprised” that Trump had canceled his visit.

Trump said Frederiksen’s comment labeling his idea as absurd “was nasty. I thought it was an inappropriate statement. All she had to say was say, ‘No, we wouldn’t be interested.’ “

Greenland is a semi-autonomous territory of the U.S. ally, and Frederiksen said the U.S. remains one of Denmark’s close allies.

The political brouhaha over the world’s largest island comes from its strategic location in the Arctic. Global warming is making Greenland more accessible to potential oil and mineral resources. Russia, China, the U.S., Canada and other countries are racing to stake as strong a claim as they can to Arctic lands, hoping they will yield future riches.

Trump was scheduled to visit Denmark on Sept. 2-3 as part of a European tour. But early Wednesday, he tweeted his decision to indefinitely postpone the trip. The move stunned Danes and blindsided the Danish royal palace. Spokeswoman Lene Balleby told The Associated Press that it came as “a surprise” to the royal household, which had formally invited Trump.

The U.S. State Department said Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke Wednesday with his Danish counterpart and “expressed appreciation for Denmark’s cooperation as one of the United States’ allies and Denmark’s contributions to address shared global security priorities.”

Spokesperson Morgan Ortagus said Pompeo and Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeppe Kofod “also discussed strengthening cooperation with the Kingdom of Denmark — including Greenland — in the Arctic.”

On Tuesday, Trump tweeted, “Denmark is a very special country with incredible people, but based on Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen’s comments, that she would have no interest in discussing the purchase of Greenland, I will be postponing our meeting scheduled in two weeks for another time.”

The vast island of Greenland sits between the Atlantic and Arctic oceans, has a population of 56,000 and has 80 percent of its land mass covered by a 1.7 million-sq.-km (660,000 sq.-mile) ice sheet.

For all of Greenland’s appeal, scientists consider it the canary in the coal mine for climate change and say its massive ice sheet has seen one of its biggest melts on record this summer, contributing to a global rise in sea levels.

Frederiksen said she is standing behind the government of Greenland.

“A discussion about a potential sale of Greenland has been put forward. It has been rejected by Greenland Premier Kim Kielsen and I fully stand behind that rejection,” she told reporters in Copenhagen.

Frederiksen, who took office two months ago in a minority Social Democratic government, went on to say that diplomatic relations between Copenhagen and Washington “are not in any crisis in my opinion” despite Trump’s canceled plans.

“The invitation for a stronger strategic cooperation with the Americans in the Arctic is still open,” Frederiksen said, adding “the United States is one of our closest allies.”

Others in Denmark were not as gracious.

Martin Lidegaard, a former Danish foreign minister, told broadcaster TV2 that it was “a diplomatic farce” and Trump’s behavior was “grotesque.”

Trump’s cancellation was “deeply insulting to the people of Greenland and Denmark,” former Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt wrote on Twitter.

Claus Oxfeldt, chairman of Denmark’s main police union, told Danish media that authorities had been busy planning the third visit by a sitting U.S. president to the Scandinavian NATO member. “It has created great frustrations to have spent so much time preparing for a visit that is canceled,” Oxfeldt was quoted as saying.

Ordinary Danes shook their heads at the news, with many calling Trump immature.

“He thinks he can just buy Greenland. He acts like an elephant in a china shop,” said Pernille Iversen, a 41-year-old shopkeeper in Copenhagen.

“This is an insult to (Queen) Margrethe, to Denmark,” said Steen Gade, a 55-year-old road worker.

In Greenland, Johannes Kyed, an employee with a mine company, told Denmark’s TV2 channel that wanting to buy a country and its people is a relic of the past.

“This is not the way the world works today,” Kyed said.

The U.S. ambassador to Denmark, Carla Sands, was apparently not informed of Trump’s decision ahead of time.

Shortly before Trump canceled the trip on Twitter, she sent a tweet saying “Denmark is ready for POTUS,” using an acronym for “President of the United States” along with Trump’s Twitter handle and a photo from Copenhagen’s City Hall square, where a Dane had paid for two pro-Trump ads on giant electronic screens.

Trump said Sunday he was interested in buying Greenland for strategic purposes, but said a purchase was not a priority for his government at this time. Both Frederiksen and Greenland leader Kielsen responded that Greenland is not for sale.

“The Prime Minister was able to save a great deal of expense and effort for both the United States and Denmark by being so direct,” Trump said in the tweet Wednesday. “I thank her for that and look forward to rescheduling sometime in the future!”

Trump is still expected to visit nearby Poland beginning Aug. 31.

Retreating ice could uncover potential oil and mineral resources in Greenland which, if successfully tapped, could dramatically change the island’s fortunes. However, no oil has yet been found in Greenlandic waters and the thickness of the ice means exploration is only possible in coastal regions.

Even then, conditions are far from ideal, due to Greenland’s long winters with frozen ports, 24-hour darkness and temperatures that regularly drop below minus 30 degrees Celsius (minus 22 Fahrenheit) in the island’s northern regions.

American leaders have tried to buy Greenland before. In 1946, the U.S. proposed paying Denmark $100 million to buy Greenland after flirting with the idea of swapping land in Alaska for strategic parts of the Arctic island.

Under a 1951 deal, Denmark allowed the U.S. to build bases and radar stations on Greenland.

The U.S. Air Force currently maintains one base in northern Greenland, Thule Air Force Base, 1,200 kilometers (745 miles) south of the North Pole. Former military airfields in Narsarsuaq, Kulusuk and Kangerlussuaq have become civilian airports.

The Thule base, constructed in 1952, was originally designed as a refueling base for long-range bombing missions. Since 1961, it has been a ballistic missile early warning and space surveillance site.

FLASHBACK: Largest known rare earth deposit discovered in North Korea

Privately-held SRE Minerals on Wednesday announced the discovery in North Korea of what is believed to be the largest deposit of rare earth elements anywhere in the world.

SRE also signed a joint venture agreement with the Korea Natural Resources Trading Corporation for rights to develop REE deposits at Jongju in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea for the next 25 years with a further renewal period of 25 years.

The joint venture company known as Pacific Century Rare Earth Mineral Limited, based in the British Virgin Islands, has also been granted permission for a processing plant on site at Jongju, situated approximately 150 km north-northwest of the capital of Pyongyang.

The initial assessment of the Jongju target indicates a total mineralisation potential of 6 billion tonnes with total 216.2 million tonnes rare-earth-oxides including light REEs such as lanthanum, cerium and praseodymium; mainly britholite and associated rare earth minerals. Approximately 2.66% of the 216.2 million tonnes consists of more valuable heavy rare-earth-elements.

According Dr Louis Schurmann, Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and lead scientist on the project, the Jongju deposit is the world’s largest known REE occurrence.

The 216 million tonne Jongju deposit, theoretically worth trillions of dollars, would more than double the current global known resource of REE oxides which according to the US Geological Survey is pegged at 110 million tonnes.

Minerals like fluorite, apatite, zircon, nepheline, feldspar, and ilmenite are seen as potential by-products to the mining and recovery of REE at Jongju.

Further exploration is planned for March 2014, which will includes 96,000m (Phase 1) and 120,000m (Phase 2) of core drilling, with results reported according to the Australia’s JORC Code, a standard for mineral disclosure similar to Canada’s widely used National Instrument 43-101.
An industry in turmoil

The majority of the 17 rare earth elements – used in a variety of industries including green technology, defence systems and consumer electronics – were sourced from placer deposits in India and Brazil in the late 1940s.

During the 1950s, South Africa mined the majority of the world’s REEs from large veins of rare earth-bearing monazite.

From the 1960s to 1980s, rare earths were supplied mainly from the US, mostly from the massive Mountain Pass mine in California, which was eventually mothballed in 2002.

China then took over the industry completely, producing more than 95% of the world’s REEs centred in Inner Mongolia and also becoming the top consumer ahead of Japan and South Korea.

Worries about China’s monopoly of production sent prices for all rare earths into the stratosphere from 2008 onwards with some REEs going up in price twenty-fold or more.

That reignited interest in the sector with dozens of explorers active around the globe making major discoveries from Canada and Greenland to Madagascar and Malawi.

Molycorp’s (NYSE:MCP) Mountain Pass is almost back to full production, Lynas Corp’s (ASX:LYC) Mount Weld mine in Australia and plant in Malaysia opened last year, while Saskatoon-based Great Western Minerals (CVE:GWG) is recommissioning the Steenkampskraal mine in South Africa with Chinese backing.

Prices have now come back down to earth with most REEs dropping in price by 70% or more after peaking in 2011.

For instance, the most abundant and cheapest of these, cerium oxide which is used to polish TV screens and lenses is now trading at $8.50 from all-time highs of $118 in the September 2011. The price for cerium oxide was $4.56 in 2008.

The reversal in europium oxide – the priciest of the widely-used heavy REEs used in medical imaging and the nuclear and defence industries – has also been dramatic.

The price of europium increased more than 10-fold from $403 in 2009 to an average of $4,900 in the third quarter of 2011.

It is now worth $1,110 a kilogram in the export market, while Chinese domestic europium is another $500 cheaper at $630/kg.

During the reporting period, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea continued to enhance its nuclear and missile programmes, although it did not conduct a nuclear test or intercontinental ballistic missile launch. Missile launches in May and July of 2019 enhanced its overall ballistic missile capabilities.

Annex 32: Strengthening the ballistic programme’s capacity

1.According to one Member State the DPRK is actively engaged in indigenous R&D and the production of missiles with solid propellant, inter alia at the industrial complex of Hamhung.
According to another Member State, there is a clear development progression from propellant for artillery rockets/SRBMs to solid propellant for ICBMs (see section 4 of this annex).

Figure I shows two similar distinctive white containers (11m x 2.40m) moving in two different areas of the Hamhung-Hungnam industrial complex. The first container moved from the location 39°49'11.81"N 127°35'17.93"E, 400m from the solid fuel propellant production facility of the Hungnam 17 Factory (39°49'27.00"N 127°35'13.55"E), as observed during the following dates in 2019: 20 February, 25 February, 1 March, 4 March, 25 March, 26 March and 3 April.

The second white container moved from location 39° 57′ 27′′ N 127° 33′ 37′′ E, at the new production area of the Chemical Material Institute CMI (production of missile casing), as observed during the following dates in 2018: 29 July, 18 August (1h56; 4h50) and 15 September. This type of white containers (11m x 2.40m) could transport rocket motor casings (wound from composite fibers).

China's Inner Mongolia sees more rare earth in situ conversion

 The city of Baotou, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, has almost doubled its in situ conversion rate of rare earth raw material to 75 percent, the municipal government said on Thursday.

Rare earth functional materials and applications accounted for more than half of the total rare earth industry output of the city, which is home to over 80 percent of China's rare earth resources.

By upgrading its rare earth processing industries, fostering research forces and enhancing policy and funding, Baotou has stepped up its efforts to achieve high-quality industrial development in recent years, said Zhao Jiangtao, mayor of the city.

Baotou's rare earth industry grew by 16.8 percent year on year to reach 17.6 billion yuan (about 2.5 billion U.S. dollars) in 2018, contributing 17 percent of the city's industrial economy.

According to Zhao, the municipal government will speed up the construction of a new industrial park for rare earth materials.

Known as China's "rare earth capital," Baotou has proven rare earth reserves of more than 100 million tonnes in its Bayan Obo mining area.

US, Australia to unveil plan on rare earth mineral supply

US President Donald Trump and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison are set to release a plan on Friday aimed at securing the supply of rare earth minerals, a senior administration official said, as concerns grow that China could cut off shipments of the prized commodities.

The plan will be unveiled during a state visit by Morrison to the White House, where space cooperation and plastic waste management will also be discussed, the official said on Thursday.

"Both countries share an interest in making sure the global supply of rare earths is stable and secure," the official said.

The goal of the plan, he added, was to pool expertise and resources "to make sure there's a stable and secure global market that's not easily disrupted by shocks and outside influences."

Rare earths are a group of 17 chemical elements used in everything from high-tech consumer electronics to military equipment.

Australia contains only 2.8% of the world's rare earth reserves, but accounts for more than half of the new projects in the global pipeline.

Rare earth minerals need to be processed after they are extracted from the ground.

There is only one operational rare earths mine in the United States, although the country has no processing facilities.

China is the world's largest processor and producer of the minerals, accounting for more than 80% of global processing capacity.

After trade talks broke down in May, Chinese President Xi Jinping visited a rare earths plant, sparking speculation that China would use its dominant position as an exporter of rare earths to the United States as leverage in the trade dispute.

Chinese negotiators are in Washington for talks as the world's two largest economies try to bridge deep policy differences and find a way out of a protracted trade war.

A Pentagon official said in August the Defense Department was in talks with Australia to host a facility that would process rare earth metals. The White House official did not respond on Thursday when asked if the plan set to be unveiled would involve such facilities.

Australia's Lynas Corp Ltd, the world's largest rare earths miner and processor outside of China, is developing a processing plant in Texas. Chief Executive Amanda Lacaze said last month the company was open to receiving US government funding to build it.

Commentary

Remember from now on, China has a proven rare earth reserves of more than 100 million tonnes, that's the same amount as what Trump wants to secure with the planned multibillion-dollar takeover of Greenland, that harbours 100 millions tons of REE.

But still not sufficient enough to challenge China's dominance!

having lost some $$$ on rare earth materials in stock market (yes I played the world's biggest rigged game also!!!)..I have some points to make.

1- Rare earth materials are not really that rare.. most places have them ..however processing the rare earth materials from its mineral form is a very dirty and man intensive process..China does that the most at a big cost to environment but who cares in china about environment!!.

2- Canada is a big rare earth land but extractions are not high enough due to environmental costs and regulations.
 
US army might have brought epidemic to China, says Chinese FM spokesman in tweet

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian wrote on his Twitter account on Thursday that the US military may have brought the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) to Wuhan.

“CDC was caught on the spot. When did patient zero begin in US? How many people are infected? What are the names of the hospitals?” Zhao wrote on Twitter, “It might be US army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan. Be transparent! Make public your data! US owe us an explanation!”

Currently, there’s no evidence to back his claim. But in a tweet shortly after, Zhao demanded to know how many of the 34 million infections and 20,000 deaths during the US’ latest flu season were actually related to COVID-19. He attached a video clip showing Robert Redfield, the director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, responding to Rep. Harley Rouda's question during the US House Oversight Committee discussion on the novel coronavirus response.

Rouda asked, "So we could have some people in the United States dying for what appears to be influenza when in fact it could be the coronavirus?"

Redfield replied that "some cases have actually been diagnosed that way in the United States today."

Last month, according to a report by TV Asahi Corporation of Japan, the CDC suspected that among the American patients who were thought to have died of flu in the past few months, some may have actually died of COVID-19.

Later, the report sparked speculation from some Chinese netizens that the virus might have been brought by US participants in the 2019 Military World Games, which were held in Wuhan last October.

Commentary

Back in January 2020, China was the first nation in the world at the forefront of the fight against the most deadly Coronavrus' or COVID-19, the acronym used in the U.S. military for Covert Operation with Virus Inducing Death # 2019.

A warfare that was pre-announced to the U.S. audience, through its literature, by American author Dean Koontz in 1981, with a virus called Wuhan-400, in his book The Eyes of Darkness.

And also in the U.S. Simpsons animated television series that has also accurately disclosed years in advance and named as coronavirus this outbreak as starting from China, along the Paris Notre Dame Cathedral fire, Kobe Bryant's death in a helicopter crash and Trump's election.

But more important, it was denounced by North Korea, at the time it was unleashed in the article #22317 published in November 2019 in the Pyongyangtimes under the title Testing ground of US’ biochemical weapons!

To blame the U.S. military for having spread unintentionally this Vrus' during the 2019 Military World Games, that was held from October 18–27, 2019 in Wuhan fails to explain the motivation though.

The reality is that it was a well planned and executed bio-warfare attack. It was carried out in Wuhan last December 2019, during the 28th Memory Championships because North Koreans champions had gathered in Hubei, and that the ultimate goal of Trump is the total economic asphyxia of North Korea, something the U.N. Security Council's resolutions and sanctions could never achieve even after two decades, blaming it on China's laxity.

The initial plan as envisioned by Washington was that after one year of total economic blockade, the DPRK would have caved under the U.S. blackmail, ending the 75 years long Cold War confrontation, and having no other option but to accept a reunification with South Korea, and under the U.S. terms. This de facto military surrender would have allowed Trump to control the most coveted rare earth reserves of North Korea, that amounts to 216 million metric tonnes, the first in the world. Without it, the U.S. will inexorably lose the AI race against China, that possess the second rare earth reserve of the world at 100 millions tonnes. Without the dominance in the electronic industry, the U.S. will not be able to avoid China terminating the century old Pax Americana by circa 2049, and supersede it!

But so far, this most heinous and evil mischief against the Chinese people has been foiled. Once again. As the Empire of Japan was forced to surrender unconditionally to the Republic of China on 2nd September 1945, after a self-defeating 8 years long total war waged on the R.O.C., sparing the Chinese people no atrocities, from mass aerial carpet bombings, chemical warfare, bio-warfare, directed energy warfare, to mind-control warfare, and causing the martyrdom of more than 100 millions Chinese citizens, the U.S. is now struggling for its own survival after this most reckless and self-defeating attack.

By next year, after the Martian orbital insertion, the mothership will release the lander carrying the rover and attempt this first ever landing! A feat that not even the U.S. could realize at the first launch. (The first U.S. landing on Mars was attempted by Viking-1 only after four Mariner probes flybys and two more Mariner orbiters. This means after 6 missions, and 11 years -from 1964 to 1975-. The first U.S. rover, Sojourner would only be launched after 2 more missions and 21 years later, in 1996.)

After this first step, China will start the development of Mars, based on the first come first served basis. First a small outpost, then the large scale robotic mining of its mineral resources, including the most strategic rare earth elements (R.E.E.).

Indeed, unlike on earth, were the R.E.E. can only be extracted on the surface crust of the lithosphere, due to the current techological limitations to dive into the molten inner layers of the mantle, Mars solid layers go deeper due to the colder molten core. Thus making deep mining activities possible to reach were the highest concentration deposits of R.E.E. are located.

By 2049, the P.R.C. will celebrate its founding's centennial, after having finally implemented the policy of Socialism with Chinese Characteristic over the entire Solar System, and totaling some 100 billions citizens, humans on Earth, robotic and synthetic-organic on all the other planets and moons!

Introduction

Although China's development is catching up very fast with the U.S. in the fields of economy, infrastructures, telecommunications, land and air transportations, green technologies, biosciences, societal development, counter insurgency A.I., conventional and unconventional military, fundamental research, applied research, sci-fi movies, etc, there is still a need to achieve genuine strings of world's first and not isolated ones, before China could officially supersede the 20th century's Pax Americana.

With each passing days, we are more and more likely to witness within our lifetime the dawn of this new China Century or Pax Sinica.

The establishment of the world's first deep space quantum communications network might give China a true cutting edge over the ailing U.S., in supporting its new Rare Earth Space Silk Road.

From the current 10 tons, Quantum Communications ground station were simply too cumbersome to be used aboard small mars orbiters.

But China's latest groundbreaking technological achievement, with the first ever new miniaturization of a portable device of 80 kilograms, make it suitable to be used on small Mars orbiters.

This milestone allows China to break the bottleneck of supraliminal deep space communication, while the U.S. would still need to wait up to 20 minutes for a reply from Mars, China would be able to communicate instantly. For Jupiter it would even reach 50 minutes time delay for the U.S.
Imagine a conflict in far away extraterrestrial outpost taking place between these two superpowers. Nothing less than a repeat of the 1905 Battle of Tsushima. The U.S. is now simply outgunned for the first time since 1945 by China.


China tests world's 1st mobile quantum satellite ground station

China's Quantum Experiments at Space Scale, or better known as the Micius, have successfully conducted an eight-minute-long encrypted data transmission with a mobile ground station, marking a world's first.

A Global Times reporter learned from the project research team on Wednesday that the successful space-ground quantum communication experiment was conducted around midnight on Monday in Jinan, East China's Shandong Province. The project is led by Pan Jianwei, a quantum physicist from the University of Science and Technology of China (UTSC).

The mobile quantum satellite ground station weighing slightly over 80 kilograms and the size of a paint bucket, was jointly developed by the UTSC, QuantumC Tek, a leading manufacturer and provider of QIT-enabled ICT security products and services and the Jinan Institute of Quantum Technology. It is the first of its kind in the world.

Pan's team said the development of the ground station started in 2019, and was completed on December 24. The successful communication with the Micius satellite marked the completion of construction of China's first mobile quantum satellite ground station.

The transmission lasted some eight minutes, and a great amount of encrypted information was sent to the ground station, the team said.

The previous ground station for the Micius satellite weighed more than 10 tons. Developers conducted hundreds of experiments in order to miniaturize the ground station.

The mobile version of the ground station can be installed on a vehicle, work anytime and anywhere, and its significantly reduced manufacturing cost paves the way for mass production in the future, the team said.

An experimental quantum communication network has already connected to the "Beijing-Shanghai Backbone" quantum communication link forming a national network, Pan's team said.

The project includes verifications and equipment based on key technologies used in long-distance quantum communications.

3. China's First Lunar Quantum Communications Relay Satellite

By sending a Quantum Communications Satellite (量子通讯卫星) at the Earth-Moon L2 Lagrange point halo orbit to replace the Queqiao radio communication relay satellite (鹊桥), would be a true scientific first for both China and the world.

By performing supraluminal speed transmissions between China Mission Control on Earth, and the Quantum Communications Relay Satellite, then relaying radio data link to the Yutu-2 rover, would allow to shorten the U.S.' 1.7 seconds Earth-Moon radio communications delay.

(total Yutu to Quantumsat to Earth distance) = (L2 to Moon distance) x 2 + (Moon to Earth average distance)
65,000 kilometres x 2 + 384,400 km = 514,400 km

(total Yutu to Quantumsat to Earth distance)/c = time delay
514,400 km / 299,792 Kmps = 1.7 second delay

While the delay for direct Earth-Moon communications is about 1.25 second


3.1. Behind The Quantum Communications: Quantum Entanglement

Scientists found that when two entangled particles are separated, one particle can somehow affect the action of the far-off twin instantly, which is what Albert Einstein described as a "spooky action at a distance."

This simply means there might be a still to discover unknown particle responsible for the entanglement, like the mesotron aka pi meson as the carrier of the nuclear strong force that holds atomic nuclei together, or the photon in the electromagnetic force. And with a supraluminal speed!

For more clarity, I called it the Mallima Particle (만리마자, 萬里马子: 10 thousands li horse, a mythical Korean winged horse able to gallop ten thousand li (approximately 5'000 km) in a single day).

According to Prof. Juan Yin and colleagues at the University of Science and Technology of China in Shanghai, that has determined a lower bound on how fast it must be, the answer is that it is at least four orders of magnitude faster than light.

4. China's First Martian Quantum Communications Relay Satellite

The next incremental step would be to expand this near-earth short-range communications system to our next planet, on the occasion of China's 2020 first Mars lander and rover mission.

The new challenges encountered in this phase are certainly among the most critical technological hurdles, that only a few world superpower could overcome.

Repeating the Lunar mission by simply sending a Quantum Communications Relay Satellite around Mars would not suffice. Single entangled photons would be too difficult to detect from Earth mainly for two reasons.

4.1. China's Quantum Communications Optical Satellite

The distance from Mars to Earth being the first factor, thus requiring the use of the world largest ever orbital Quantum Communications optical system to be used. This would in addition allow to avoid atmospheric distortion, scattering and absorption from the earth's atmosphere.

After detecting the incoming single entangled photons sent from Mars orbit, the earth's orbital Quantum Communications optical system would relay the data to ground MC, with another separate stream of entangled photons, or simply radiowaves as emergency slower backup system.

A CZ-5 Heavy space launcher will be mandatory for such a payload, with its 4.03 meters primary mirror made of silicon carbide designed by Changchun Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics.

4.2. China's Basic Martian Quantum Communications Relay Satellites Array

Detecting the incoming single entangled photons sent from Mars orbit, is made difficult, as earth stations, could not be able to distinguish them from the background photons from the luminous Martian disk.

Therefore the distance of the Quantum Communications Relay Satellite to the Martian surface should be far enough to have a darker background.

This could be done by sending the said Quantum Communications Relay Satellite to a far enough Mars L1 Lagrangian Point halo orbit at some 1'082'311 km.

As the line of sight might be lost due to the diurnal rotation of Mars, an array of Quantum Communications Relay Satellites might be necessary, with at least a second one at the Mars L2 Lagrangian Point halo orbit.

4.3. China's 24/7/365 Martian Quantum Communications Relay Satellites Network

Martian Quantum Communications satellites inserted in stable orbits around the Lagrangian points could be extended to include the L4 and L5 points to allow communication even when Mars is in conjunction, thus completing a long-term nodes of communication between Earth and Mars.

5. China's New Space Silk Road

For completing a Quantum Communications satellites network that covers all the Solar System, needed to support China's deep space exploration and development, prerequisite for its expending extraterrestrial rare earth exploitation, that will include Mars, the asteroids, and the worlds of the gas giant planets, the above-described combination of space platforms will be multiplied to cover the full distance, with as many quantum communications repeaters as required.
