How self sufficient is Iran's economy?
#1
I wonder what are the main imports of Iran and how much billions Iran spent on them?

Can any one list that?

Can Iran really succeed in facing all these sanctions?

Very vague question... But totally self sufficient in food and weapons, more or less.

This link shows that imports of Iran stood at 76 USD in 2017. It is a big big amount.
Main imports are machinery, cereals, iron and steel, and chemicals, foodstuffs and other consumer goods (19%), technical services

Question is, what are the replacements of these imported goods?

Find me a country with zero imports in human history? Even US just bought more Russian engines for their rockets.

Even if things can be made domestically doesn't mean they should be, often it's more economical to import.

I think complex machinery and base materials for medicines etc are the biggest things Iran is dependent on.
