‘Terrorist group’ kidnaps 14 Iranian security forces on border with Pakistan – offici
#1
Fourteen Iranian security forces, including members of the Revolutionary Guards, were kidnapped on the border with Pakistan on Tuesday, IRNA reported, citing an official who described the kidnappers as members of a terrorist group. “These 14 people were kidnapped around 4 or 5am in Lulakdan border area,” the official was quoted as saying. Armed Sunni Muslim separatist groups in eastern Iran have stepped up attacks against security targets in recent months. Lulakdan is in Sistan-Baluchestan, a mainly Sunni province that has long been plagued by unrest from both separatist militants and drug smuggling gangs. In September, the Revolutionary Guards killed four Sunni Muslim militants at a border crossing with Pakistan, including the second-in-command of Jaish al-Adl, a group that has carried out several attacks on Iranian military targets in recent years, Reuters said.

Iran’s Intelligence Forces Smash Several Fuel-Smuggling Gangs

In a statement released on Monday, the Intelligence Ministry announced that its forces in the southern province of Fars have identified several fuel-smuggling gangs and arrested six members of them.

The smugglers usually hid fuels through increasing the capacity of fuel tanks of buses and sold the fuels in the main routes between Shiraz, Zahedan, Iranshahr, and Chabahar, according to the statement.
As Iran’s national currency has dropped rapidly in value, the smuggling of fuel has soared due to increasing price differentials inside and outside the country.

Iran can deal with Pakistan by putting pressure on it from or through Ruling northern alliance faction in Afghanistan which is severely anti Pakistan.

Pakistan is always treading a fine line between Iran and Saudi Arabia. We shouldn't do anything that pushes them to Saudi. These problems would not arise if Iran had a modern military. Border guards along some border areas near Pakistan and Iraq should be equipped and trained better. MRAPs would definitely help.

Better training will not stop such elements from initiating terrorism attacks against Iran. Its a political problem that needs to be sorted out politically. Pressure on Pakistan from Afghanistan side will have them come to terms with the fact that they just cant let these groups operate on their soil against Iran. Pakistani Intelligence ministry called ISI is notorious for operating such groups against almost every country they border.

Iranian side is blaming Pakistan for not securing border at their side . this is the main problem

one side is gaining economic benefits from "unofficial trade/smuggling issue" other side is losing in this type of relationship . if you were in Pakistan shoes what would you do ?

@Amir

Had the intention of terror group been to kill these men, they would have done that already. They want to negotiate with IRGC.
