The Pakistani forum has a good design but is unfortunately full of trolls. That's why we made this forum.

And yes, anyone can PM me, go right ahead.

I don't know if this is going to be a good suggestion or not but I feel like size of posters information is too bulky. Maybe shrink it vertically a bit? It takes too much screen real estate and it can be annoying during reading replies.

Maybe I am not use to it. Otherwise the overall usability has significantly improved and I really like it.

Is there a separate section for Iran's missiles? I don't see it [actually now I found it, but it was not easy to find at all... i have to click IRGC --> IRGC aerospace force --> missiles! I understand that technically this is logical, but maybe this can be rearranged to make the missile thread more prominent and easy to find from the homepage? i think this is an issue because the thread has no posts since August 2018 which is surprising!]

Also, some parts of navigation on this forum are quite complicated... For example, to see latest posts I go to portal --> view new posts, but instead of taking me straight there it takes me to a pop up page saying thank you we are taking you there now ... Can you get rid of this?

I don't think the shoutbox should be right at the front of the homepage either, maybe at the bottom of the homepage because otherwise it distracts from the actual content

I also suggest the IMF gallery and development boxes move to the bottom as well, or at least below the main substantive threads

That is all I can think of for now, I hope I do not come across as rude or something because I understand the effort that goes into making and maintaining this website, I just want to make it better for everyone!

Smile

Also, when I make a new post it shows up as "1 new post" on the portal section, but this is the post I just made... Maybe this can be changed too (but a small issue...!)

A bit late, but:

1. I think the IRGC section is well organised in this way. However we could implement a way to have a direct link to the various sections from the home page, instead of pressing "sub-forums" first.

2. You can hide the shoutbox by clicking on the title tab.

3. Gallery section moved to the bottom.

4. For the redirect page after making a new post, all you need to do is go into the User Control Panel and click the gear icon on the left, and press "edit options". Scroll down to the bottom and uncheck the "Show friendly redirect pages" box. I might make this off by default.

1. Good idea
2. True, now I appreciate the shoutbox a bit more and think my criticism was not justified so I kindly retract that
3. Thanks
4. Yes I think it would be a very good idea to make that the default option.

Thanks Smile

Dunno if it has been already suggested, but maybe there should be an intro/welcome thread for new members to post when they first join etc? I posted a Hi in off topic chill thread...but maybe something specific for it would be better.

Anyways looking forward to this forum. Its been set up well!

Now one thing that I found very useful in the PDF is the two flag system...one flag for representing your nationality country and one flag for for the country you reside in. To know this two basic info about the poster will allow to know the context of his/her post...it also helps with time zone differences so if I am typing this at 11 pm in north America I know the guys in Iran will be in bed by this time ...any way ...I need to sleep soon..lol

update: I discovered in "Edit profile" it asks you "your country" and "country you live" ..now that does not work for a guy like me...My "Birth" country is Iran and I consider myself to be an Iranian. I lived in Canada for 40 years and have the citizenship so What should I put in the field "your country"...

solution: change the question text from "your country" to "your nationality" and then the two flag system will work fine..(the second flag "where you live" does not show ..it will be great if it showed side by side)..now I really have to go to bed...old farts need good sleep!!..
experience is like a comb that God gives to you after you lost your hair. Undecided

@AmirPatriot @admin

Some suggestions/requests based on my usage here and other forums so far:

1) Notifications !!! (cannot really have a workable interactive forum without this)
2) New thumbs up procedure so we can see how many likes each post has and who liked it
3) Redesign the post layout so the username and details comes on the left hand side of the post instead of talking so much space horizontally. Where the name ends currently should be the end of that section (horizontally), then below that should be the flag(s), reps etc vertically. This would be much more efficient use of space (akin to PDF/World-Defense etc).
4) Ability to tag people (once there is notifications) --> EDIT: actually it seems that tags work, but only if you type the correct username manually, there should be a pop up as you type to help make it clearer that you are actually tagging someone
5) Embedding for Twitter/Instagram
6) Better formatting coherence when copy and pasting into the text box, e.g. automatically convert it into one uniform font/size/colour when pasted (then the poster can change specific parts manually if he/she wants to)
